Enjoy your reading.Ĭonclusion and Ease of Use Recommendations Your books are on your kindle, it often takes a second for your library to update properly when you open your Kindle but trust me they are there. That works fine it is just a little more jumbled converting back and forth hence my recommendation to download them initially in MOBI format. If they aren't already in the MOBI format when you downloaded them you will get a prompt to autoconvert them. Highlight by shift clicking all the books you would like to add to your Kindle, click send to device. This icon will not appear if you device isn't connected. Calibre will recognize it and update the icons along the top to include the icon Send to Device. Once it completes you should have a entry in your library formatted and ready to be sent your Kindle.įirst connect your Kindle into your computer. It will let you know what jobs it is actively performing. Look in the bottom right hand corner of your Calibre window. What the hell I don't see anything? Don't worry it is working. Make sure you change the Output Format to MOBI so it works with Kindle. In this box you need to paste the web address of the homepage for the story/stories you want to download on Royal Road. I skipped this part and recommend you do the same. The second set mentions setting up an email, this is a reference to the ability of Kindle owners to send documents to their kindle through an specific email generated in your Amazon account device settings. You may be able to change this later but I selected my specific Kindle during setup. Once you have installed Calibre there a bunch of setup options, the first set is specific to your reading device (a Kindle in this case). The method works by downloading all the books you want to read and then sending them to your kindle. We will use a plugin to this program to manage our stories from Royal Road. Without further preamble here is the method (it takes about 5 minutes) :Ĭalibre is an eBook management program. I encourage you to support the platforms you use financially if you are able especially if you use this method. My purpose is not just to help users dodge the limited monetization methods many of these platforms have access to. I suspect this might also help for people with limited access to the internet, disabilities or other limitations on how they are able to access content. I post this because there are many people for whom reading on a computer screen just is not comfortable and hurts your experience. Since then I have found an even easier method that would like to share with you. The logistics of how to do it were more difficult to figure out than they should have been but the reward was huge. I loaded many books I purchased but since I read on Royal Road a lot I wanted to take that with me too but offline on a convenient device. Last year, I was going on a week long trip to Mexico and I wanted to load up my kindle for some relaxation reading on the beach.
